A wild kangaroo killed a person in southwestern Australia within the first deadly assault since 1936.

Authorities mentioned Tuesday {that a} relative discovered the 77-year-old – who’s believed to have been conserving the animal as a pet – with “severe accidents” on his Redmond property on Sunday.

The person died on the scene. It was believed he had been attacked earlier that day. 

Police shot and killed the kangaroo as a result of it was stopping paramedics from reaching the person.
